Iron: Proteins in our body use this metal to transport oxygen and grow cells. Most of the body's iron is found in hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to tissues throughout the body. There are two types of iron, heme (of animal origin) and non-heme (found in plant sources such as lentils and beans).
