BB, CC, DD creams: Which letter suits the needs of your face

BB, CC, DD creams: Which letter suits the needs of your face photo

In earlier times, the products in the beauty routine were separate and specific. Moisturizer, face sunscreen, makeup base, and you're off. But what about today, when beauty creams have a protection index, they also have a color and are separated based on letters.

Finally, which cream suits your needs and what do the initials BB, CC, DD finally mean?

BB Creams:

BB creams have become famous in recent years and are the initials of the words, beauty or blemish balm. BB creams offer coverage and are fortified with elements such as SPF or antioxidants.

The BB cream has a lighter texture than the make up base. The special point is that the extra features (eg antioxidants) give BB the value of a serum while at the same time helping to protect from the sun.

The point to pay attention to is the correct application of the product. BB cream hydrates you, is ideal for any skin type and soothes redness. The ingredients that provide coverage in BB creams are usually from minerals, so they take care of the skin that has pimples or acne.

CC creams: CC creams are the initials of color control, i.e. color control.

CC creams were created to revive skin that looked quite red or orange and contain ingredients that give skin freshness and an even texture. CC is not the best choice for those with oily or problematic skin but it serves to even out and brighten the skin against freckles and discolorations and is the most effective product when you don't have the time or inclination to apply regular make up.

CC primarily corrects imperfections in the complexion and is lighter and velvety in feel, but without extras. If you are confused by the choice between CC and BB, remember that the new generation BBs are similar to CCs but have more elements. In theory, the difference between a BB cream and a CC cream is minimal.

DD Creams:

The dynamic do all creams that do everything or Daily Defense creams are a hybrid of BB and CC and aim to both protect and care for the skin. DDs work more effectively on more mature skin thanks to their rich antiaging filters, while frequent use can clog pores.
DD creams promise high sun protection, anti-aging action, reduction of pores and fine lines, intensive hydration and even coverage.

Throw away the Make up base? No!

Shades of BB and CC creams are limited. Some have two shades and some only one. On the contrary, the base of the make up has many different shades while if they have the same base (water, silicone or oil) the base and the BB or CC can be mixed offering extra coverage.

Some more categories:

Tinted Moisturizer: A moisturizing cream with a little color, ideal for the youngest skin but without problems of oiliness or acne.

EU creams:

EE creams, the latest generation of creams in this category, help minimize irritation from pollution and free radicals, which lead to blemishes. In combination with the pigments they have, they give the face an even tone. Extra exfoliation EE creams renew the skin and remove dead cells while protecting the skin from the sun and moisturizing it. EE creams are not meant to be used very often and are not recommended for those with thin or sensitive skin.

The PP creams:

Pink perfect, the perfect pink cream, which is the ideal base for make-up since it gives the skin uniformity to absorb make-up properly. The silicon particles it contains fill all parts of the skin, making it smooth and soft. PP creams are suitable for any skin type, but must be used in conjunction with other facial products. After applying the PP, you should proceed with a moisturizer or sunscreen.

In conclusion: If you have normal skin, prefer the BB or CC or DD cream that suits your needs. Make sure it suits your skin, is ideal for your lifestyle and the time you have for its application and experiment to find the right color tone. If you have oily skin or skin with acne or even very dark or very light skin, BB and CC creams will not offer you the care and coverage you need and you should look for more specialized products. However, even for such skin with special requirements, special BB and CC creams have been created.
