First bell with lice? Everything you need to know to avoid them photo
Every year when children go back to school there are new cases of head lice. The head lice they do not have distinct preferences and do not choose based on hygiene. Children between the ages of 3-11 are the most common victims, with girls taking the lead as they have longer hair and are used to swapping their combs.

The first and most basic symptom that someone has lice is intense itching on the head. At the first infection, it may take 2-4 weeks before the person realizes that they have itching that is different in intensity than at other times.

How do you check if your child has lice?

Always have your child sit under bright lighting and part their hair. Carefully search each section for eggs (nits) that look like small, white spores stuck to the hair.

An easy way to distinguish them from dandruff is that the nits cannot be easily removed from the hair if you pull them. Their color is gray or caramel at first and then turns yellow-white when the louse is gone.

What should you do if you see that your child or a classmate has lice?

Check your child's head.
Wash household items that may also be contaminated, such as the child's towels and sheets or your own.
Wash the clothes your child has been wearing for the past two days.
Inform your child about the ways he can avoid lice.

It is very important to teach your child that he should not share things that touch other children's heads, such as headphones, combs, pigtails, caps and the like. Also, you should tell him to be careful not to touch his head or his hair to the heads of his classmates. And because children are children and they forget, you should also take action as an adult. A special lice prevention spray is the ideal way to protect your little head of sprouts while they play carefree at school.

You will find nits and lice more often in the places behind the ears and around the nape of the neck.
