Pregnacare Conception provides 400 µg of folic acid, the exact level recommended by the Department of Health for all women trying to conceive. Folic acid supplementation increases maternal folate levels*. Low maternal folate is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus. In addition to playing a role in the process of cell division, folic acid also contributes to the development of maternal tissue during pregnancy.
Reproductive health in women
Certain nutrients can play a role in supporting a woman's reproductive health. Pregnacare Conception contains zinc which contributes to normal fertility and reproduction while vitamin B6 helps regulate hormonal activity.
