The international company Gerolymatos International S.A. is active in the field of Health and Beauty, based in Athens. It dates from 1923 and is one of the oldest, traditional family businesses in the Greek Healthcare market.
Gerolymatos International focuses on the development, production, distribution, marketing and sales of both its own products as well as those of its international distinguished partners.
Globally, it has a wide network of subsidiaries and local distributors, making its products available to consumers in more than 50 countries around the world.
Gerolymatos International operates in four distinct sectors: OTC, Optics, Vet, and Logistics services. For more than 90 years the name Gerolymatos has been associated with the field of health and beauty. Since 1923 when Pharmacist Nikolaos P. Gerolimatos opened a pharmacy in the center of Athens, no one imagined that it would develop into one of the largest in the Balkans.
Unfortunately, the pharmacy was completely destroyed in December 1944, as a result of which the then eighteen-year-old Panagiotis Gerolimatos became actively involved in the importation and trade of pharmaceutical and veterinary products.
History of Gerolymatos
The small family pharmaceutical business that employed only three people at its beginning, responded to the difficult path of development and within three decades it reached in 2008 to employ 1.100 workers. Undoubtedly, it holds one of the leading positions among health and beauty companies in Greece, and its products are to this day benchmarks in the categories in which they operate - gaining the respect and readability that suits it.
However, a few years ago due to major changes in the history of the company, where in October 2008 all the activities of the Gerolymatos Group of Companies related to the Greek market were transferred to pharmaceutical company listed on the Stock Exchange and international activities were excluded from the agreement.
The new company - Gerolymatos International - now under the leadership of Nikolaos P. Gerolymatos - 3rd generation - is being reorganized from the ground up, focusing on expanding its international activities, strengthening its subsidiaries abroad, investing & developing its own products - taking advantage of the its network of representatives in at least 50 countries around the world.
Seeing the opportunities that will be presented in the Greek Pharmaceutical market, Mr. Nikolaos P. Gerolymatos, despite the difficult economic situation, from September 2011 decides to reactivate the Gerolymatos company in Greece in order to reclaim its leading position at the national level.
With its new headquarters in the northern industrial area of Athens, in Kryoneri, and having acquired a presence in foreign markets, it is determined to face new challenges and opportunities in the field of health and beauty, even in the global market.
