St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum, St. John's wort) containing 0,3% hypericin (Hypericins) with L-Tryptophan. According to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Committee for Medicinal Products of Herbal Origin (HMPC), St. John's Wort can be given as a short-term traditional herbal aid for the symptoms of mild mood disorders and the relief of temporary mental exhaustion. It contributes positively to situations of nervous tension and severe stress.
Caution: The St. John's Wort creates photosensitivity. Light-skinned people should avoid exposure to strong sunlight and other sources of UV radiation such as artificial tanning. Also, nutritionally it is recommended during use to avoid foods such as meat, yeast, pickled herring, red wine, aged cheese and general products containing tyramine. It should not be given at the same time as antidepressants. The St. John's wort may interact with anesthetic drugs. The Committee on the Safety of Medicines advises St. John's wort should not be used simultaneously with various medications without the approval of the attending physician. Suitable for vegans. It should not be used by pregnant or lactating women.
