The Chewable Vitamin C 500 mg by Solgar® contains vitamin C, an antioxidant vitamin essential for body health and often used to support the immune system. Also known as ascorbic acid, vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and unlike most animals humans cannot make vitamin C. With vitamin C playing a role in over 300 bodily functions life itself depends on regular its replenishment. It is well known that vitamin C is destroyed during food preparation more than any other nutrient and that the body does not store vitamin C but tends to excrete large amounts.
