When hydrochloric acid (HCL) rises from the stomach into the esophagus, it creates inflammation and a burning sensation. Neutralizing HCL with classic antacids provides relief, but inhibits digestion, thus allowing undigested food to pass into the small and large intestines, causing fermentation, gas and bloating. The sodium alginate (from seaweed) contained in Nutrasec creates a gel that coats and protects the hypersensitive tissues of the esophagus, while allowing the action of HCL and good digestion. In addition, Nutrasec contains enzymes (80.000 units) that further improve digestion: bromelain, papain, protease, amylase, lipase.
