Asvaganda is an herb that grows mostly in India. It has traditionally been used in the Far East as an adaptive herb (and is therefore also known as Indian ginseng).
The most important phytochemically active substances are Withanolides (or guathinolides), which appear to have a similar structure and biological activity to steroid hormones. Withanolides (or guathinolides) apart from their adaptogenic properties (anti-anxiety and stress management) seem to have:
- anti-inflammatory properties
- adjuvant properties
- testosterone boosting and sperm enhancing properties
This particular preparation is a titrated ROOT extract of the herb as only the root contains the Vithanolides (or Guatinolides).
